Noruz(new year for more literally new day)is the most important celebration for Iranian.
The word noruz meaning new day, is the most anticipated and favorite celebration for
iranians. It occurs exactly on the spring equinox.
What we celebrate as noruz has been around for at least 3000 years and is deeply rooted
On the rituals and traditions of the Zoroastrians of Sasanian period.
Haji Firoz is one of the symbols of Noruz.
Haji firooz is the pioneer of Noruz.The oldest Noruz messenger and familiar cultural
Character in Iran.
Before the New Year begins, he appears wearing a red clothes and the special pointy shoe
Called (Giveh) and a long cone shaped hat with bells and jingles hanging from it.
Singing his way throw the street and allies.
Haji Firoz paints his face and hands black and singing in the neighborhoods all over
Iran.
The lyrics are funny and make people happy.
He informs everybody that noruz(new year)is around.
